My Creative Space...

You know the other day I was asking for book recommendations...well I decided on one and got it a couple of days ago.

I decided on this one in the end and I'm glad cause I love it!

Yesterday I made this for Joe. I haven't made all that many clothes so thought I'd better start with something simple and then move onto the harder stuff.

I made it with polar fleece because I had some and it's stretchy. It turned out ok.

Joe likes it because when he wear's it he has flames on his bottom. He asked for the pointy hood.

It's the first time I've done reverse applique which I've discovered is really fun.

My next project will be the Riviera Leggings out of one of these (or both). Wish me luck.

Check out lots of other creativeness at Kootoyoo.

Off the topic of being creative....I just got a phone call from one of my neighbours and got told off for there being a ball in her backyard! Apparently she want's us to go and collect them straight away if one goes over OR to ban ball games in our backyard! The cheek! It's not my fault that she's going to get a hip replacement replaced today...she doesn't have to take all her nerves out on me!

Oh for a rural block with loads of space.
xx

You'll have to do a general review of the book when you are finished. I don't think I have ever even heard of reverse applique! ha ha looks good.

Great job! He'll be the coolest kid in town for sure.
I made that pattern a while back in cotton (not knit) and it was a disaster. So hooray for you for reading the pattern.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Hi Hannah, thanks for dropping by. The hoodie looks great. I did a reverse applique cushion a few weeks back and loved it. In fact I didn't even know it was called that until Kirsty made a comment on the post! Learn something new every day :)

Oooohh! Reverse applique? will have to look that one up - looks great!

What is it with neighbours and balls? I remember as a child, if a ball went over the fence one particular way we never got it back. Years later new people moved in and tidied up the backyard - and we got several years worth of balls back!!

the suggestion of no ball playing in the backyard - ludicrous! we thankfully have lovely neighbours who just throw them back over whenever they see them. Unfortunately it became a little game for a while for a certain 2 year old throwing anything and everything over because it was so much fun to see it just appear back there in a few days....... very understanding neighbours.

Lovely hoodie for Joe, Hannah! But I reckon those are Yeti footprints on the back, not flames!!`

Hi Hannah - the book you chose looks lovely - I've been wanting to try reverse applique for ages which is funny because I can't really sew - it just really appeals to me - I'll get there one of these days!

you don't need luck ... you're doing too well on your own already. the hoodie looks really cute, and how nice to get exactly what you want instead of what some designer thinks would look nice on "pre-pubescent hookers" or all boys like dinosaurs. you know what I mean ... I hope!

How great to be able to open a book like that and just sew a top for your Joe! The flames are definitely a feature i think O will be a little envious of that one : ) As for the neighbour..she clearly does not know how good she's got it! If a ball in her backyard is a bad thing she must be terribly miserable.

Fantastic hoodie I can see why it is loved :-)

Tell your neighbour to 'take a chill Pill' kids need ball games!!

We have problems when we come down to the big smoke because my boys are used to being so LOUD, it's hard for them to understand about neighbours being so close!

I love reverse applique! It's so satisfying, isn't it?

Some people have way too much time on their hands. Imagine losing it over a random ball!? I'd be so tempted to peg about 20 into her yard just to watch her go apoplectic. But then, the hip replacement thing would make me feel bad.

As for the fleece - I would LOVE to have flames on my bottom too!!!
