Concerning Chickens

So, my sister finally got some chooks and after an initial run in with a very laid back Whippet who no one knows what came over when she first met the chooks, they've settled in well.

They love mulberries when the kids shake the tree.

And they occasionally come inside and poo...nice.

Can't wait till we can get some as well.

Hope you're all having a nice Tuesday. xx

Oh I can think of nothing nicer than to lie on that grass and have those kids shake the mulberry tree over me. Mmmmmmmm....

I have 2 hens. They are the sweetest, funniest things. They'll come inside too, if they can (carpeted lower level, not so good!!!) They are being fed by no less than three kitchens, are as fat as butter, and are giving me eggs that are nearly always greater than 80g. Wonderful things.

There are Isa Browns and they are much smarter than Whippets (is that saying much?)as the whippet is now too terrified to go outside as the chooks gang up on her and won't let her eat her dinner in peace; in fact, they try to enjoy it with her - even when it is raw chicken! Keeping us all very amused and in two eggs a day!

Yay Sophie. I thought the day would never come. So glad they have settled in safely.
