Family Fun Time

Every weekday at 6:30pm our family does what we call Family Fun Time. We started it as a way of getting the kids to do all the things they need to do in the morning...if they don't do everything, they miss out on Family Fun Time, simple.

Last night we made little flower gardens out of matchsticks, egg cartons, colored paper and foam things.

Here's how they turned out.

Now off to think about what to do for tonight's Family Fun Time.

Sunday

Yesterday we had a lazy day at home and ended up having a bit of a boys versus girls competition.

We split up and saw who could make the best thing out of Lego and Ello.

The boys used the Lego and we girls used the Ello which we only got given the other day from my Niece. It's really fun to play with...so many little bits and pieces.

We made a house from Ello with a few people and some pets.

The boys made a castle out of Lego with some very well known guards.

Who would have thought Harry Potter would team up with Stormtroopers!

How was your Sunday?

Two computers...two days

I must be cursed. Somehow I've managed to break two computers in two days.

First my old laptop wouldn't turn on yesterday, which wasn't too much of a surprise because it is really old and today my desktop refuses to turn on even with a new power board... ugh

What am I to do?? Download BlogPress for my iPhone and test it out that's what. Looks like I'll be relying on my iPhone for a while cause there's no place in our budget for new computers!

Hope your all having better days than me!

Forebear Friday

I came across these slides the other day whilst browsing through all the boxes on my ingenious slide viewer (ha ha). They're both of my Dad, the first one is when he was 23 taken in 1963.

The second is taken the year after, in 1964 at Bondi Beach, which is where he grew up.

Hope your all having a nice Friday.

My Creative Space...

Yesterday I needed to start looking through all these slides for a slide show I'm putting together so I did a google search on making a slide viewer I could use while sitting in front of the TV at night.

Here's the simple one I found, so I got an old box.

Cut a hole in the bottom for the torch to slip into.

Covered the inside with bright white cardboard (to reflect all the light from the torch).

Stuck the torch in.

All I had left to do was cut a panel out of the lid and stick in some foggy plastic of some sort to put the slide on.

I was just about to cut up an old milk container when Shane came out holding this...

Duh...why didn't I think of that? The torch app on my iPhone is perfect for the job. How silly do I feel?
