Turning Two!

Yesterday my gorgeous little nephew turned two so we spent the first day of school holidays lazing around at my Sister's place.

I bought him a Chunky Chooky softie (thanks Cath!) which we wrapped in about four boxes just like a pass the parcel.

His Mum and Sister made him a cute cake which we had after dinner.

All in all a lovely start to the school holidays. I hope you've all had a nice week. xx

Meeting Jenni

Yesterday, me and Ella went down to the local Mall and met up with Jenni from Baa-me Kniits. It was such fun meeting another blogger in person. Her two boy's were there as well, what great kids. The three of them (the kids that is) were running around the coffee shop chasing each other, luckily it wasn't very busy.

Look what I got for a present. A gorgeous crocheted christmas decoration that is now hanging just above Reindeer Hollow and a cute little charm that I'm going to hang on my handbag. Thanks so much Jenni!

We must have been too busy talking because we totally forgot to take a picture!

Fabric storage basket

It was my lovely sister's birthday on the weekend so I made her a storage basket from this tutorial.

It kind of goes with her living room colour scheme.

You've probably seen me use that embroidered fabric before (this was the last of it), it was a skirt I picked up at an op shop. The paisley was also from an op shop, there was a few meters of it so I'll make an iPad sleeve or two from the rest of it.

The pink on the bottom is an Ikea fabric.

Hope you all had a great weekend. xx

My Creative Space...

I'm dropping in my sewing machine today for a service because it's been playing up a bit over the last few days so I won't be doing any machine sewing till I get it back next week. So instead of using my machine I've been hand stitching this.

My MIL asked me to make a cover for a book that she uses every day.

I just sandwiched a stiff interfacing between two op-shoped fabrics and blanket stitched round the edges. I did iron that pink gingham, not sure what happened there. I'll need to give it another iron I think.

Anyway, hopefully now it will last her a few more years to come.

For other creativeness go to Kootoyoo (thanks Kirsty).

Elsie's finished coat

I might have got a bit carried away on the trim.

I did a sort of blanket stitch round the bottom edge and crocheted a simple lacy bit for around the neck.

I think my dog, Wicket was about to sneeze in this photo...

Lots of gifts!

On Tuesday my SIL, Kyla, came back from visiting Africa and America. Yesterday she came over to visit us and get her fix of the niece and nephew and she had two huge bags of gifts for us all! Some of the presents were from Kyla and some were from my BIL, Ben, and my other SIL, Debbie, who live in Boston, Massachusetts. Thanks so much guys...your the best!

First of all look what I had for breakfast this morning! Yummy Grape Nuts...my favourite.

Tomorrow I'm going for toast and jam.

Check out all the clothes we got. The kids got some too, but I haven't got a picture of them yet.

Shane's Celtic's t-shirt

We got matching trackie dacks. I didn't want to take mine off for the photo.

The kids got some great stuff as well.

Bath paint

Remember shrinkydinks? Joe's pointing to his favourite pictures.

And I got this great plate from Africa

We also got a supply of chocolate...I'm surprised this is still around actually, the chocolate pretzel containers looking very empty.

Thanks again Debbie, Ben and Kyla!

A few things...

I have to show you what Ella had for breakfast on her birthday the other week. Porridge with 'birthday sprinkles'. A great example of how to easily turn healthy food into not so healthy!

I haven't been doing a whole heap of sewing lately because I've been trying to get my Made It shop and my Etsy shop ready for launch. Getting there, it gets a bit tedious doing all the policies and profile. Yesterday was my sister-in-law's birthday so made these luggage tags and a passport holder for her. She goes overseas at least once a year so they should come in handy.

Today I sat down and thought about packaging for the stuff I'm going to sell. I made these swingy tags to attach. I have heaps of scrap booking paper so am putting it to good use and printing on the back of it then cutting it out and rounding off the corners...easy! I'll attach them with yarn out of my stash. Now I just need to get some sort of business card to put in with the order and I think I'm set.

And one last photo of what my sisters house is called...for all the Dr Who fans out there.

Don't you love pressies!

My sister came back from holidays and I went down to visit yesterday and she gave me this from a little shop in the Blue Mountains, very nice.

Then we had these for lunch...

...that's a lot of pizza, and how much did it cost??

$24 from a lovely little lebanese bakery, such good value!

Well today we are off to the Easter Show. All I'm hoping for is to come back with the same kids we left with and maybe see some craft.

What does every girl need?

A bubble skirt of course!

I needed to make a gift for a nearly one year old and couldn't go past this cute tutorial for a very easy reversible bubble skirt, Turned out really well. It's a bit small for model Ella (she's nearly 4) but I had to fight to get it off her. These are the best photos I could get from the photo shoot.

Here are the rest of the photos.
