Etsy

I've been thinking of starting an Etsy store for a little while now so on the weekend I got sorted and made some extra iPad sleeves and put them on my new Etsy shop. I couldn't believe it when a few hours later three of them had sold!! I was imagining they'd just sit there for a while and I'd have time to stock the shop up before I told anyone about it. I haven't had time to make any more so I just ended a few that were on my Madeit shop and put them onto my Etsy shop to bulk it up a bit. Anyway, I've added a link to the new shop over in my sidebar.

Now what I want to know is, those of you who sell on Etsy...what's the next step. What are these Street Teams. Is there any other way you get involved in Etsy? Any tips or tricks for a new user...it's all a bit overwhelming.

I have to say that I think madeit is much more user friendly but Etsy seems to have more 'accessories' to it which I haven't delved into yet.

That's fantastic Hannah! I think now the ipad is getting more and more popular that you'll be selling more and more sleeves. Hooray for you for being ahead of the trend and coming up with such a great product.

Well done Hannah. I think Etsy has a much bigger audience. I'm doing a course in October (not soon enough!) for online selling so will let you know what I get out of that but I believe within the etsy community there are also lots of areas for you to learn tips and tricks. C xo

Oh that is fantastic Hannah! I'm not surprised you have sold three already. My shop has fits and bursts with sales. I think if you want to become a serious Etsy contender you have to treat your shop like a blog and spend a great deal of time getting to know other Etsy sellers, publicising your wares and doing things like creating treasuries. Sometimes you will get lucky and someone will include your stuff in a treasury which always helps with sales. New listings tend to go quickly too. Good luck!
