Forebear Friday

I love this photo. I've got no information on it. The people in it look familiar and it was in the family stash of photos but I haven't matched it up to anyone yet. I'm guessing it's taken around 1900 and probably in Melbourne somewhere. I just love the old house and that if I look at the picture long enough I keep thinking that someone's looking out that window at me (click on the picture to make it bigger).

I'm not alone this week either... Becclebee has joined me in posting some old photos. I love that she's inherited so much from her Grandmother. Let me know if you want to join in on a Friday as well and I'll put a link in my post.

ooh Hannah.. I think she looks like the mother in the family photo for 1896 morning grandfather Henry Mark Henley!

That's what I thought at first but then the man looks kind of like an Abreu so I couldn't place it. I think your right though about the lady...just have to work on who the man is. xx

A really beautiful photograph. I could go there now and pop in for a cup of tea and a hunk of bread. I will endeavour to post a piccy of my nan, who is 95 and was a dressmaker in her day.

I wish I had some old family photos ! They got burnt in a house fire way back b4 i was born :(
It does look like someone in the window! I think it is probably the reflection of the photographer in the shadow of the ladies head on the window?

I'd love to join in - add the link! (although I am going away for a week and I may not have internet access....) but after that, I am in. I love history and it'll give me a chance to look into my own a little more.
