A school beanie

Joe requested a beanie for school to keep his head warm. They sell them at the uniform shop, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy one when I can make him one myself. So I found the right colour yarn and a pattern and started this.

I got the right gauge and did the same size as in the pattern, but tried it on Joe last night and the cable section is way too tight! Now I have to decide if should undo it all and start another pattern (then I don't have to buy any more yarn) or finish it and give it to my little nephew.

Decisions, decisions...

Now thats a tricky one isn't it! I love the beanie so finish it and make a new one Joe...your knitting is divine and you know the wool is never the same after frogging it :-)

Would it be worthwhile giving blocking a go? Over a salad bowl (hmn) or some such?
