My creative space...

Joe, my 5 year old son, has been asking me to make him a tri-fold wallet for the last week or so (just like his friends have at school). His Dad's not happy about it and has offered to buy him a Billabong (or similar) one from the shops, but this morning he asked again and I said to him "Would you like me to make you one or do you want to buy one from the shops?"...now I was thinking for sure that he would say buy one from the shops but no...he said "I want you to make me one Mum" so how can I pass that up. He even drew a plan of it on some paper. So today I will be making a tri-fold wallet.

Also, my sister brought over her hexagon punches...

...so I have been punching and sewing with all my little scraps of fabric

I can't wait to see these once they're all gone. PS please delete my last post. I don't know what I've done. Thanks

Thanks for all the lovely comments. Luisa, I didn't actually punch the fabric, only the paper...but when I read your comment I went and tested to see if they would punch fabric, but unfortunately they don't...there's an invention waiting to happen!

Doesn't it feel nice when the little people in your life would rather something that you made than something bought in a shop ( probably made in china ).

there's that pink gingham again. lovely! can't wait to see the wallet too. it's so sweet of him to be asking you to make one for him rather than buying.

my little miss always asks me to make a "pretty" dress for her. she's so proud to wear it every time. and even if she's wearing a bought item, she'd still say, i made it. :D

Now nice that your little guy thought you were the better source! I love it when my daughter assumes I made everything, even if it's something I could never make myself. Neat that they're growing up with "makers" and just think that way.
